Therapy By Alice (formerly Adagio Massage and Music Therapy) is based in the Gatesville, TX area.

About Therapy by Alice

Therapy by Alice offers massage therapy, interactive music therapy, and equine myofascial bodywork. My work is trauma‑informed, non‑force, and grounded in the understanding that bodies—human and equine—hold experiences that deserve time, respect, and skilled attention.

I believe therapy works best when it is relational rather than prescriptive. Whether I am working with a person or a horse, my focus is on listening to the body, supporting nervous‑system regulation, and allowing change to happen without force or urgency.

My Approach

My approach is calm, intentional, and problem‑oriented. I do not offer spa‑style or purely relaxation services. Instead, I work with clients who want to engage actively in the process—whether that means addressing chronic pain, physical tension, emotional holding, stress, or patterns shaped by trauma.

Across all services, I emphasize:

  • Safety and consent
  • Nervous‑system awareness
  • Myofascial and body‑based techniques
  • Respect for each client’s pace and capacity

Massage Therapy & Somatic Bodywork

I offer therapeutic massage for adults and veterans who want to work through physical or emotional patterns held in the body. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and may include somatic awareness and gentle regulation techniques. This work is best suited for clients seeking meaningful, problem‑focused bodywork rather than general relaxation.

Interactive Music Therapy

My music therapy work focuses on engagement and co‑regulation. I work with children and adults with developmental disabilities who enjoy making music together, singing, and interacting in a relational way. Music therapy sessions are active, responsive, and designed to support communication, emotional expression, and connection.

Equine Myofascial & Nervous‑System Work

I provide non‑force equine myofascial release for horses impacted by stress, tension, or trauma. This work supports mobility, relaxation, and regulation, while honoring the horse as a sentient partner in the process. When appropriate, I offer gentle conversation and awareness for the human partner, recognizing that horses and humans often influence one another’s nervous systems.

A Unified Philosophy

While the services I offer are distinct, they are connected by a shared philosophy: supporting regulation, softening, and resilience through attuned care. Each session—whether with a person or a horse—is approached with presence, respect, and curiosity.

Therapy by Alice is not about quick fixes. It is about creating conditions where bodies feel safe enough to change.
